We are currently recruiting for a Regulatory Assurance Advisory Specialist on a 6-month contract for our client to start on the 5th January.



Hybrid working, 2 days in office (Epsom) – one needs to be a Tuesday



The role involves providing expert regulatory guidance and support to the business, ensuring the client has effective policies and procedures, training, and systems in place to meet its regulatory obligations in delivering good customer outcomes. Foresight into industry changes as well as a deep understanding of the current regulations will be key. You will report to the Regulatory Assurance Manager who in turn reports to the Assurance Senior Manager.



The role:

  • The main purpose of the role is to act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to the business on all aspects of regulation in this sector
  • Horizon scanning will allow you to proactively monitor regulatory changes and emerging trends in the car financing sector, analysing their impact on business operations, and providing clear and concise summaries to relevant stakeholders
  • You will develop strong relationships with business units, understanding their regulatory needs and providing proactive and timely advice on compliance matters. This could be as a project support or in business-as-usual activity
  • You will support the business in implementing new regulations and guidance, ensuring that policies and procedures are up-to-date and reflect current requirements, providing approval for amendments to those policies and procedures
  • You will assist in preparing and submitting accurate and timely regulatory reports on behalf of the business to the FCA and liaise with them as needed
  • Reporting across the wider organisation and other industry bodies will also form part of your regular working pattern


Essential:

  • Strong understanding of FCA regulations / FCA handbook knowledge
  • Consumer Duty experience
  • Regulatory Assurance background
  • Regulatory Compliance background
  • Experience in providing regulatory advice and support to business units
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of CONC rules
  • Monitoring background


Desirable:

  • Regulatory Compliance background
  • Experience in developing and delivering training
