Role: Performance Tester

Location: We operate a hybrid schedule, meaning 2-3 days a week in the office based at Thorpe Park, Leeds.

Salary: DOE plus extensive benefits

Working hours: We work on a core hours principle. Our core hours are 09:30 - 16:00; you can work around these to suit you!

We have a brand new opportunity available for a Non-Functional Performance Tester with strong experience in data-intensive systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating system performance, scalability, and reliability, especially in environments where large volumes of data are processed.

What you'll be doing?

  • Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and security audits across applications, networks, and data environments
  • Design and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability tests for data-driven applications
  • Analyse system behaviour under different data volumes and user loads
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to understand data flows and identify performance bottlenecks
  • Develop test scripts and scenarios using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling
  • Monitor system metrics (CPU, memory, I/O, network) during test execution
  • Provide detailed performance reports and recommendations for improvements
  • Validate data integrity and consistency during performance testing
  • Ensure compliance with non-functional requirements and SLAs

Who are we looking for?

  • Solid understanding of Agile principles and Scrum methodology
  • Proven ability to define, prioritise, and deliver high-quality software features
  • Proven experience in non-functional testing, especially performance and scalability testing
  • Strong understanding of data systems, including relational and NoSQL databases
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, New Relic)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for test automation
  • Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of data profiling and analysis techniques
  • Experience with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
  • Background in SaaS, FinTech, HealthTech, or eCommerce
  • Familiarity with UX/UI principles and user-centric design
  • Working knowledge of data privacy laws and compliance standards
  • Experience with DevSecOps and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines
  • Exposure to machine learning models and their security implications
  • Experience with big data technologies
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of performance tests
  • Exposure to data privacy and compliance testing
