Faculty/Directorate

This post sits within the School of Engineering, Infrastructure and Sustainability in the Faculty of Technology, Arts and Culture. The School delivers a wide range of Built Environment courses and research, working alongside though distinct from the Leicester School of Architecture.

Role

We are seeking a talented lecturer to contribute to high-quality teaching and practice-informed research in the Built Environment. You will play a key role in shaping our new BSc Quantity Surveying and Construction and BSc Building Surveying programmes, with opportunities to teach across the School. Strong engagement with industry and real-world professional practice is central to this role.

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic educator with Academic and professional experience in quantity surveying and construction. You will have knowledge of measurement, estimating, tendering, procurement and professional QS practice. You will need to have some teaching experience and an understanding of the UK and international HE landscape, a RICS chartered status, or the ability to achieve it within a reasonable period. You would ideally possess a PhD in a context appropriate to the Built Environment (or soon to be completed PhD, or equivalent qualification, or equivalent practice-based experience) and be able to undertake independent research. Experience or knowledge of trans-national education will be an added advantage.
