The Management Recruitment Group (MRG) is looking for an Head of Building Regulatory Compliance in London Area

Job description

A leading independent real estate consultancy is establishing a new Building Regulatory Compliance service line and is looking for an experienced technical specialist to lead it.


This is a strategic role with real autonomy, the chance to shape a service from the ground up, influence internal standards, and play a key part in how the consultancy supports clients under the evolving Building Safety Regime.


The role

• Lead the delivery of Principal Designer and BRPD advisory services

• Oversee plan checking, inspections and regulatory compliance across varied projects, including HRBs

• Steer clients confidently through Gateway 2 requirements

• Develop internal templates, processes and best practice guidance

• Work closely with project management, fire safety and defects teams to embed consistent standards

• Deliver internal and external CPD/training to strengthen the service’s profile

• Drive business development and position the new service line within a wider, established consultancy

• Support long-term growth, with clear scope to build a team as demand increases

What you’ll bring

• Chartered status (MCABE or equivalent)

• Strong background in Building Regulations, building control or PD/BRPD advisory

• Experience working on residential and higher-risk buildings

• Ability to interpret complex regulation and translate it into clear, practical advice

• Confidence engaging with clients, presenting and supporting internal teams

• A proactive, commercial approach and appetite to take ownership of a growing area
