Job description

My client is an advisory boutique, with offices across the UK and Europe. They have a very strong European Debt Advisory team with a key office in London, advising Private Equity firms and corporates on a range of debt finance related projects.


They are now looking for an executive to work as a member of their successful and growing Debt Advisory team. The successful candidate will work with a small group of professionals, with the benefit of direct access to the leadership within the team, assuming significant responsibility, experiencing strong deal-flow, gaining transaction exposure and opportunity for progression.


Purpose of Role:

Undertake financial analysis and research, to prepare presentations and manage transactions


Key Responsibilities:

The core role is to:

  • assist in the preparation of marketing materials and pitches for new business
  • undertake financial modelling and produce detailed valuations
  • write information memoranda and client presentations


In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • produce briefing notes and research relating to trends in the debt markets
  • research, collate and interpret data in order to present a complete picture of an organisation or sector
  • serve as a point of contact for clients in the day-to-day management of transactions
  • start to build own network of contacts (e.g. Lawyers, accountants, consultants and potential clients such as junior staff at private equity firms)
  • make contact and interact with peers in other teams and offices
  • make a contribution to the firm’s Private Equity relationships


Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong academic record (at least a 2.1 degree or equivalent)
  • Qualified ACA, with relevant post qualifying experience
  • Relevant past experience in investment banking, commercial banking, debt advisory or accounting. This could be in transaction services or related teams, such as modelling, valuations, etc.
  • Strong financial modelling skills (Excel).
  • Experience of writing presentations (PowerPoint) and information memoranda (Word)
