Emissions Compliance Engineer

12-month contract – with potential to extend

Hours: 37 Per Week: Start between 08:00–09:00, Mon–Thu: 7.5 hrs/day, Fri: 7 hrs

As part of the UK Emissions & Regulatory Compliance team, you won’t be confined to one product line; you will influence all medium‑engine platforms and work across a broad mix of international regulations. What you will be doing:

  • Building expertise in worldwide emissions standards and applying them to real-world diesel engine technologies
  • Getting to grips with global emissions regulations and how they apply to diesel engines
  • Helping to guide the wider business on the requirements to stay compliant
  • Supporting and resolving compliance issues across multiple engine lines and global regions
  • Preparing and submitting conformance reports to different regulatory bodies
  • Working closely with teams across the UK, US, and India to keep processes aligned
  • Developing and improving documentation to clarify and streamline compliance steps
  • Breaking down technical and regulatory information so it is clear for others to follow
  • Playing a role in maintaining a culture of doing things properly and to a high standard

What you will bring:

Essential

  • Strong understanding of engines, ideally backed by an engineering degree
  • Experience working within engine performance or a similar technical area (minimum 3 years)
  • Any previous exposure to compliance or regulatory work will really stand out
  • Ability to understand complex technical topics and explain them clearly
  • Confident communicator who’s comfortable engaging with different teams
  • Someone who takes pride in accuracy and doing things the right way

Desirable

  • Some familiarity with emissions legislation across global markets
  • Experience with tools that help streamline processes (e.g., Alteryx)
  • Background in off-highway, on-highway, or similar engine-related industries
