Job Title: Procurement Officer


Salary: £35k - £45k per annum depending on experience plus pension, expenses and a number of benefits including birthday's off, one volunteer day a year and department quarterly budgets for entertaining


Location: Oxford Circus, London


Reporting to: Commercial Director

Your Impact:

  • Responsible for the procurement of multiple refurbishment, decoration & restoration and fit-out projects ranging from £50k to £3.5m
  • Work across diverse sectors including commercial, education, hospitality, and healthcare
  • Collaborate with a supportive team to deliver exceptional results for our clients


Job Deliverables

  • To ensure the timely, cost-effective, and quality procurement of subcontractors, supporting the company's projects and commercial objectives in a professional and meticulous manner.


Responsibilities:

  • Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


Develop and Manage Procurement Strategy:

  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to identify and source suitable subcontractors for construction projects.
  • Conduct site meetings with potential subcontractors to run through the project scope, technical specifications, and site-specific requirements.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date Procurement Schedule, detailing lead times, order statuses, and delivery/start dates.
  • Place and write formal subcontractor orders, ensuring all necessary documentation, specifications, and commercial terms are accurately included.
  • Assist in negotiating terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve the best value for the company.


Project and Team Liaison:

  • Maintain clear and proactive liaison with the Project Team (Project Managers, Site Managers, and Quantity Surveyors) regarding all procurement matters.
  • Communicate procurement timelines, resource availability, and potential supply risks to the relevant team members effectively.
  • Attend internal project meetings to provide updates on procurement progress and address any resource or supply chain issues.
  • Ensure all procured items and services align with the project budget and quality standards defined by the Quantity Surveyors and Project Team.


Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit regular procurement reports to the Commercial Director, highlighting key metrics, cost savings achieved, and any challenges or risks encountered.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all subcontractor quotations, negotiations, orders, and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procurement policies and procedures.


What You Bring:

  • 3+ years' experience in construction
  • Strong knowledge of London's subcontractors
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software
  • CIOB membership preferred
