Assistant Headteacher – Specialist Education Provider (SEMH/ASC)

Location: Stockport

Salary: Up to £50,000

Remit

Compass Associates have partnered with a Specialist Education Provider, to recruit for a new Assistant Headteacher within one of their specialist schools in Stockport. Their schools support children and young people who have challenging or complex needs, including emotional or behavioural difficulties or mental health challenges.

About the school

This school is a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) provision, supporting students aged 5 to 17. They currently have approximately 40 students on roll, which enables them to maintain a close-knit, supportive environment tailored to each child’s individual needs.

Candidate

The successful candidate must have:

• Relevant teaching qualification
• Background working within specialist school, in particular SEMH or ASC schools.
• Deep understanding of the OFSTED framework and independent school standards.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience
• Proven experience leading teams, managing behaviour effectively, and driving high-quality teaching.
