Automotive Colour Designer

Job description

Expleo is working closely with a globally renowned Automotive OEM in Central London to recruit a highly creative Automotive Colour Designer. In this role, you will deliver modern, innovative colour and material design solutions for new vehicle programmes.

Key Responsibilities:-

Creative Design – Projects

• Research and develop visual concept proposals in collaboration with the Global Colour Group, bringing a unique and innovative perspective.
• Initiate and develop design themes while maintaining the integrity of the design brief.
• Use the latest design tools to illustrate proposals effectively.
• Research, develop, and propose innovative materials or finishes with suppliers, ensuring feasibility and cost targets.
• Communicate design concepts clearly and maintain exceptional visual presentation standards.

Project Management

• Mentor peers to enhance creativity and efficiency within the design team.
• Independently lead colour projects from initial exploration through to final release.
• Participate in project planning meetings to ensure clarity of direction.
• Create and manage timing plans, ensuring adherence to cost targets.
• Maintain regular communication with all business partners and stakeholders.
• Stay fully engaged with overall project requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:-

• Highly creative and innovative, with a proactive mindset.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Motivational team player with leadership and project management experience.
• Ability to challenge and innovate in colour and materials.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Art & Design.
• Technical awareness of material manufacturing processes.
• Automotive industry experience and knowledge of current trends.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Additional Requirement:

Candidates must be able to travel across Europe and the UK approximately once every two months, for around 3 days at a time.
