Our client, a Global Bank, are looking to hire a VP for their Project Finance Portfolio Management team in London.


In this role, you will manage a portfolio of 15-20 project finance transactions.


Key Responsibilities:


Portfolio Management & Risk Oversight:

  • Maintain robust credit vigilance over the portfolio, applying internal policy for grading and timely delivery of credit reviews.
  • Proactively monitor risk indicators, apply appropriate credit grades, and support the Group's goal of mitigating credit costs and losses.

Complex Transaction Administration:

  • Lead the analysis, preparation, and administrative execution of post-financial close activities, including managing complex waiver requests, variations, and documentation modifications.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all financial, legal, and covenant requirements of the loan documentation.

Analytical Due Diligence & Reporting:

  • Conduct in-depth financial and technical analysis, which includes the detailed review of customer financial statements, project finance financial models, construction, technical, and operational reports.
  • Prepare internal credit applications and lead discussions with various internal stakeholders (Credit Department, Operations, etc.).

Stakeholder and External Engagement:

  • Manage principal interfaces with external parties, including Agency functions at other financial institutions, Technical, Legal, and Financial advisers.
  • Engage directly with customers on administrative tasks, such as KYC (Know Your Customer) information gathering and attending project site visits.
  • Internally, coordinate and maintain strong working relationships with Origination, Syndications, Operations, Compliance, and other regional/global offices.

Team Support and Development:

  • Contribute to the training and support of junior colleagues on internal processes and best practices.


Qualifications and Experience:


  • Deep Project Finance Expertise: Significant, demonstrable knowledge of Project Finance theory, practice, documentation, and financial modeling is essential.
  • Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical and numerical skills with a proven ability to interpret and analyze complex financial and technical information for risk assessment.
  • Communication & Influence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and drive discussions with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
  • Transactional Experience: Direct experience in managing a loan portfolio post-financial close, including processing waiver requests and handling complex documentation.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of administrative tasks such as KYC and general regulatory compliance within a banking environment.
  • Capacity: Proven ability to manage a portfolio of 15-20 complex transactions and thrive in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
