Project Planner – Data Center

Location: London City Center

Salary: £110,000 to £120,000

Sector: Project Management Consultancy

Working Arrangement: Hybrid


The consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of large-scale data center projects in the UK. The role involves developing and managing detailed project schedules, coordinating with multiple disciplines and ensuring programme information is accurate and presented clearly. This position suits someone who can bring strong structure and planning discipline to complex technical projects.


Responsibilities:

Programme Development

  • Prepare detailed project schedules from early design through to commissioning
  • Establish milestones, sequencing and logic for all phases of the data centre project
  • Identify risks, constraints and potential delays early

Progress and Reporting

  • Track project progress and update schedules to reflect actual performance
  • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports for internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Review contractor programmes and assess alignment with the master schedule

Coordination and Communication

  • Work closely with project managers, engineering teams and commercial teams
  • Attend coordination meetings and clearly communicate programme status
  • Provide planning insights and support for forecasting and decision making

Schedule Analysis

  • Carry out critical path reviews and scenario analysis
  • Assist with delay assessments and support commercial teams where schedule impact is involved

Documentation and Standards

  • Maintain accurate planning files, revision histories and supporting documentation
  • Ensure programme outputs meet consultancy standards and client expectations


Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a planner or scheduler on data centre projects
  • Experience within a project management or cost consultancy is beneficial
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and MEP coordination
  • Skilled in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Strong communication skills with confidence in client facing situations
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail


Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, construction management, project management or related discipline
  • Additional planning related certification is advantageous
