Job description
One of our private clients is seeking an exceptional and highly experienced Butler/Travelling Maid. This is a hands-on, travel-heavy role suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and takes pride in delivering seamless, high-level service.
The Principal resides primarily abroad, so travel will be frequent. At times you will travel alongside the Principal; in other cases, you will be deployed ahead of her to prepare hotel rooms and ensure all arrangements are in place before her arrival.
The successful candidate will join a small team—including a Butler and a travelling assistant —and must be a collaborative, discreet, and reliable team player.
Key Responsibilities
- Full spectrum of high-end butler duties, including:
- Expert clothing care, wardrobe maintenance & handling of luxury garments
- Packing and unpacking to the highest standards
- Preparing hotel rooms and residences prior to the Principal's arrival
- Travel support, including airport assistance, luggage management, and advance arrangements
- Light logistical coordination (with senior logistics handled by the Estate/Operations Manager)
- Frequent and sometimes short-notice travel, often internationally
- Maintaining exceptional professionalism, confidentiality, and adaptability at all times
- Supporting the Principal with calmness and patience, even as plans shift last-minute
- Coordination with a small team while still working efficiently and independently
Candidate Requirements
- Ideally London-based; Europe-based candidates considered
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- ESSENTIAL: All candidates MUST hold a European passport eligible for U.S. ESTA entry
- Substantial experience in a similar travelling Butler,Maid, or Valet-style role
- Demonstrated experience caring for luxury clothing and wardrobes
- Strong organisational skills with a calm, polished, and proactive approach
- Highly flexible, discreet, and comfortable with constant global travel
- A true team player with strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
£70k- £80k DOE
