Interim Group Compliance Lead
A great opportunity has come up for a Head of compliance/ Senior Corporate Compliance professional on an interim basis. This will be leading the compliance function for an industry professional service that operates globally. Contract 3-6 months.
Ideally candidate will have experience of leading a compliance team within professional services, Manufacturing, Construction, Aviation or similar industry.
Role Brief
- Maintain the existing global compliance framework, and where required provide structured processes for supporting ethical and compliant behaviour throughout the organisation.
- Oversee and manage global corporate compliance operations.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to maintain regulatory and risk frameworks, controls, policies and procedures to enable effective and transparent decision-making and risk management.
- Provide direction, advice, and guidance to Senior Management, keeping abreast of regulatory changes and best practice.
- If required, assist in resolving any contentious matters arising, including any disputes, complaints or investigations.
- Provide support to internal governance structures as they relate to Audit and Assurance in the testing the effectiveness of compliance controls and procedures.
- Manage whistleblowing matters in line with the relevant local whistleblowing regulations.
- Deliver planned e-learning training programs alongside HR.
- Provide compliance integration support following the completion of corporate transactions, including liaising directly with third party advisers and management teams on a plan to support their integration into the group.
- Engage with regulatory agencies as required.
- Support the Global Data Privacy Officer Lawyer as they support the governance and the data privacy teams.
- Contribute to internal reporting to relevant Boards and Committees on the effectiveness of the organisation’s compliance programme.
- Substantial demonstratable governance, ethics and compliance programmes experience.
Experience
- Ability to exercise ethical judgement and guide others likewise to do so.
- Thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations and compliance frameworks.
- Manages & influences key senior internal and external stakeholders, sets out clear expectations of others.
- Involves their senior teams and wider business expertise in solving organisational problems.
- Leads by example, is inclusive and embraces diversity.
