Band 8a Oncology Pharmacist

Start Date: January/February 2026

Temporary/Permanent

Hourly rate/salary - Negotiable


I’m working with a large acute NHS hospital that is looking for an experienced Band 8a Oncology Pharmacist to join its cancer services team.


If you’re an oncology / haematology pharmacist who enjoys complex clinical work and wants more influence over how services are run, this is a great next step.


The role

  • Lead pharmacist for oncology / SACT within a busy hospital setting
  • Advanced clinical input to oncology wards and day units
  • Involvement in specialist oncology clinics and pathways
  • Key role in SACT governance, protocols and guidelines
  • Supervision and development of band 6/7 pharmacists, technicians and trainees
  • Lead and support audits, QI and service development in cancer services


About you

  • GPhC registered pharmacist with solid hospital oncology/SACT experience
  • Confident in high-level clinical decision making
  • Experience supporting junior staff and contributing to service development
  • Independent Prescriber (or working towards / keen to complete IP)
