Rework Supervisor

Location: Southampton, Office based

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Purpose of the job

To supervise a team who perform various rework/upgrade/repack activities on Garmin products.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Rework Team on a daily basis. Responsible for ensuring all products are delivered on time to a high standard
  • Liaise with EMEA Sales Support to review bundle requests, provide advice, define backflush locators, check viability of proposals and redraft NERRs if required.
  • Liaising dialing with Team Leaders to determine labour requirements and discuss scheduling
  • Provide a breakdown of rework cost and request approval for all new bundle/VA products
  • Responsible for key/locker allocations
  • Maintaining scrap rota
  • Scheduling/leading internal meetings. Representing Rework in inter-departmental meetings
  • Conduct performance reviews every 12 months. Monitor Rework Associates/Team Leader’s performance. Regularly evaluate staff performance and provide specific targets. Assist associates in attaining objectives.
  • Liaise with European, US and Taiwanese counterparts to plan projects, overcome possible obstacles and assure customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for Rework inventory and stock movement
  • Setting and reviewing Oracle Routings and BOMs.
  • Liaise with Inventory Planning/Demand Planning/Order Management to ensure order fulfilment.
  • Define Oracle processes required for Rework activities.
  • Provide costing analysis and advice to the sales team when new products are created.
  • Monitor Oracle transactions and resolve any issues. Escalate with IT Oracle support if required.
  • Investigate any issues identified and reported with product previously reworked and shipped
  • Produce job instructions for new bundles, ECO’s and excess conversion requirements
  • Create Discrete Jobs and attach job instructions
  • Communicate changes in departmental processes to the RW team
  • Communicate any packing or Oracle errors to RW associates and maintain an Error log. Introduce measures to reduce error rate.
  • Responsible for overall control of WIP job scheduling and ensuring staff resources are available to meet deadlines
  • Cost and efficiency saving analysis and implementation
  • Procure components for bundles and other NERR related products through local and European suppliers
  • Stock adjustments for consumable items with a value less than $200
  • Maintaining forms for booking out Tape guns, Knives, SD cards, keys
  • Process owner for Non-ECO rework requests. Responsible for requesting any changes in the process or to the format of document GEQS_160
  • Source components for ECO requirements through Olathe, Taiwan and Europe
  • Compile a monthly rework report, and provide breakdown/analysis of output, costs and KPI’s.
  • Analyse the department’s performance and report KPI’s to superiors.
  • Responsible for defining and maintaining Rework processes (Record processes and map process flows). Requirement to continually improve processes and drive efficiencies while reducing costs to the company
  • Provide comprehensive training, tuition and assistance for the team
  • Work closely with the Inventory Planning, Demand Planning, Order Management and Warehouse teams to ensure job deadlines are met with efficient use of resources.
  • Maintain technical rework areas. Ensure all hardware is correct spec and functions correctly
  • Work closely with Europe QA to implement effective quality assurance processes
  • Maintain SN control of all products
  • Maintain update applications and SW. Work with Olathe and TWN to implement updates.


Education & Experience

  • Consumer Electronics or Computer Based experience.
  • Competent with PCs and packages to include MS Office.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a position of responsibility.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
