Quantity Surveyor – Major RC Frame & LSF Residential Development (Windsor)

Windsor, Berkshire

About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a No.2 Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering the first phase of a major long-term masterplan development in Windsor.


You will be supporting a Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor on a £135 million residential scheme, delivering 413 units through a mix of reinforced concrete (RC) frame and lightweight steel frame (LSF) construction.


With a programme running up to 2032, this development offers long-term stability, continuous project exposure, and clear progression pathways.


Project Overview

You will work on the initial phase of a landmark regeneration programme, involving:

  • £135m project value
  • 413 residential units (mixed tenure)
  • RC frame & lightweight steel frame superstructure
  • Large multi-block layout with high-density urban design
  • Complex logistics and multi-phase sequencing
  • Long-term masterplan spanning several years, offering continuity and career development


This is an excellent opportunity for a QS who enjoys major project environments and wants to grow into a senior position over time.


Your Role as Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to a Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial and financial management of this flagship scheme, ensuring strong cost control and accurate reporting throughout all stages.


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing allocated work packages across RC frame and LSF blocks
  • Leading procurement, tendering, subcontract analysis, valuations & variations
  • Supporting cost plans, cashflows, CVCs and monthly forecasting
  • Assisting in value engineering, contract negotiations & risk management
  • Working closely with Technical & Production teams to align commercial strategy
  • Maintaining subcontractor relationships and ensuring contract compliance
  • Supporting trainees/JQS where needed


Skills & Experience Required

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Experience with residential or mixed-use construction
  • Understanding of RC frame and/or lightweight steel frame advantageous
  • Strong procurement, subcontract management & cost reporting skills
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and commercial awareness
  • Ambitious, proactive, and keen to progress toward Senior QS level
  • Interest in or progression toward RICS/CIOB is beneficial
