A well-established manufacturing business in the Blackpool area is currently recruiting a Maintenance Team Leader to join their engineering function during an exciting period of growth and investment. With multiple capital and improvement projects scheduled to begin in 2026, this is a key leadership role within the site’s maintenance and reliability strategy.

The successful Maintenance Team Leader will be an experienced, hands-on leader capable of balancing day-to-day maintenance support with effective people management. This role requires a strong technical background and a genuine passion for continuous improvement, reliability, and performance delivery.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Leading and motivating a team of multi-skilled maintenance engineers on shift
• Providing hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance support during breakdowns
• Managing shift activities, workload allocation, and engineering priorities
• Driving CI initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
• Supporting PPM strategies and engineering best practice
• Acting as the technical escalation point for complex and repeat faults
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and engineering standards
• Supporting capital projects and site improvements planned for 2026

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Team Leader, Engineering Supervisor, or similar
• A strong hands-on maintenance background within manufacturing or FMCG
• The ability to lead from the front and develop high-performing teams
• A passion for continuous improvement with a track record of delivering results
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Recognised engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
