About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Commercial Banking to lead the establishment and growth of our Commercial Banking function. This is a unique opportunity to build a new business area from the ground up, shaping strategy and execution in alignment with our values, growth objectives, and regulatory obligations under Islamic finance principles.
As the first member of this newly created team, you will design and implement a commercial banking strategy, offering a range of Shariah-compliant products, and build a robust portfolio of corporate and SME clients.
What You’ll Do
- Lead & Build: Establish the Commercial Banking function, including business planning, product design, and operational framework.
- Drive Growth: Develop and execute strategies to grow commercial banking assets and liabilities.
- Client Relationships: Originate and manage corporate and SME relationships, delivering tailored financial solutions.
- Product Development: Design Shariah-compliant commercial banking and trade finance products.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK regulatory standards and Shariah principles.
- Collaborate: Work closely with the KFH Group, Senior Leadership Team, and Shariah Board.
What We’re Looking For
✅ Proven leadership experience in building or scaling up a commercial banking function.
✅ Deep expertise in commercial banking, trade finance, and corporate finance.
✅ Exceptional relationship management and business development capabilities.
✅ Entrepreneurial mindset with strategic vision.
✅ Knowledge of Shariah-compliant financing structures (or willingness to develop expertise).
Desirable
- Experience in Islamic banking or Middle Eastern financial markets.
- Established network across corporate and SME clients.
- Ability to thrive in a start-up or scale-up banking environment.
