T&C Supervisor (Contract) – FCA Regulated Financial Services

Location: UK wide (remote / hybrid depending on region)

Contract: Contract / Interim

Day rate: Competitive, dependent on experience (OUTSIDE IR35)

Start: ASAP / Flexible


Our client is seeking an experienced Training & Competence Supervisor to support advisers across its national network on a contract basis. This is a high-impact role within a regulated advice environment, supporting adviser competence, standards, and regulatory outcomes.


The Role


As a T&C Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing advisers operating under the FCA Training & Competence regime, ensuring advice standards are met and maintained across the network.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Supervising advisers in line with FCA T&C requirements
  • Conducting file reviews and suitability assessments
  • Supporting advisers through accreditation, sign-off, and ongoing competence
  • Providing structured feedback, coaching, and development input
  • Escalating risks, breaches, or conduct concerns where appropriate
  • Maintaining accurate T&C records and MI
  • Working closely with Compliance, Risk, and AR firms


This role suits experienced supervisors who are comfortable operating independently, managing risk, and applying judgement within a regulated framework.


About You


You will likely have:


  • Proven experience as a T&C Supervisor within an FCA-regulated advice firm or network
  • Strong working knowledge of COBS, FCA conduct rules, and T&C frameworks
  • Experience supervising financial advisers (independent or restricted)
  • Confidence challenging advice where required, with a balanced and pragmatic approach
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to hit the ground running in a contract environment


Desirable but not essential:

  • Prior experience within a large network or AR model
  • Compliance or risk qualifications (CISI, CII, ICA)
  • Background in financial planning, paraplanning, or advice supervision
