Job description

A leading global insurer is looking for a Construction Underwriter to join its London team, with a dominant focus on UK CAR and Annuals risks as well as broader territorial focus. The role involves underwriting major commercial projects—such as data centres, stadia, and residential developments—while also writing global risks. You’ll work as part of a well respected underwriting team, collaborating with Risk Engineers, to ensure the profitable focus of the portfolio.

This is a strategic opportunity for someone with technical UK or international CAR experience, from a broker or underwriting background. The company is known for writing business from the top down, leading on large accounts, and being viewed as technical experts. You’ll have the chance to influence client presentations, help shape their strategy around facilitised business, and play a key role in a team that values versatility, leadership, and independence.
