Pearse Professionals are delighted to be partnered with a high growth, entrepreneurial software start-up company, currently seeking a Head of Strategic Finance to join the team to aid with the next stage of growth.


In this newly created role with an opportunity to grow into a CFO position, this is a high-impact role at the forefront of strategy, finance, and operations, ideal for candidates from investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, or scale-up experience who want to transition into an senior finance capacity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute the financial roadmap, positioning the business for growth and future fundraising.
  • Investor Relations & Fundraising: Support and eventually lead fundraising processes (equity and debt), develop investor materials, and manage board communications.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Build forecasting models, scenario plans, and KPI dashboards to inform executive and board-level decisions, as well as hold functions to account on their commitments to budgets and performance.
  • Accounting Oversight: Manage relationship with external accounting firm, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and build internal financial discipline.
  • Compliance & Risk: Oversee financial governance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory standards.
  • Commercial Partnering: Provide insights into pricing, unit economics, and growth strategy for product and commercial teams.
  • Leadership Development: Lay the foundations for an in-house finance team as the company scales.


Experience required:

  • Experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Corporate Finance, or senior finance/strategy accounting (ACA/ CIMA/ ACCA Qualified or equivalent), roles in a scale-up.
  • Strong financial modelling, commercial analysis, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to fundraising, transaction processes, or board-level stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and hands-on execution.
  • Passion for technology, sustainability, and transforming global supply chains.
  • Prior exposure in software, SaaS, technology, or impact-driven sectors.
  • International finance experience (multi-country operations).
