Casualty Claims Adjuster

London/ hybrid

Salary - £75,000


Pavilion are partnered with an ambitious growing Lloyd’s of London Syndicate based in the heart of the city. This is a great opportunity to join an award-winning insurer that are building across several territories which includes Europe, Australia, North America, and the UK.


Their claims team is comprised of five and are prideful of the entrepreneurial growth, excellent collaboration across the whole business, and superior data and technology use which enhances their offering.


They are seeking a casualty claims adjuster to work on a varied portfolio of general liability and medical malpractice claims across Australia, Europe, UK, Canada, and soon to be the US. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing binder claims from first notification through to settlement, work closely with the TPA partners and provide analysis of claims and trends.


Responsibilities:

  • To handle all claims, with due consideration of any potential subrogation and tight costs control, as referrals or via DCAs and to manage all DCAs to required standards
  • To manipulate data and provide analysis of claims to highlight trends, performance issues, leakage, costs spend, litigation and fraud
  • Collaborate continuously with underwriters and client meetings
  • To identify deficiencies in information and understand the justification for capturing specific information
  • To apply reserving policy and the standard policy conditions and exclusions
  • To investigate where appropriate the circumstances under referral
  • To handle claims in line with authority limits and investigate applicable law and regulatory issues
  • Respond effectively to customer requirements, acquiring feedback from customers and brokers/intermediaries
  • To create effective reports, selecting essential, relevant criteria and information to provide to Claims Managers and Underwriters
  • Work closely with the technology team in developing analytical oversight tools
  • Management of bordereaux and loss funds
  • To interpret financial reports and insurance performance measures
  • Effectively negotiate with both internal and external parties
  • Maintain and develop internal and external relationships
  • Provide explanations to customers and brokers/intermediaries
  • Maintain accurate claims records with regulatory implications
  • Undertake any ad hoc or project work as necessary
  • Recommend improvements to the claims processes and procedure
  • To appoint approved independent experts as appropriate
