Food Safety & Compliance Officer – Meat Industry

Location: South West London

Salary:c£42K

Are you an experienced food safety professional with a passion for meat, labelling, and compliance? If so, this is a hands-on, senior technical role offering full ownership of food safety and compliance in a growing, quality-focused business.

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading meat importer, wholesaler, and direct-to-consumer business. They are seeking an experienced Food Safety & Compliance Officer to take ownership of food safety, labelling, and quality systems across their operations, including meat cutting, cold storage, warehouse, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and enforce food safety policies and HACCP systems across all operations
• Maintain and manage the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Ensure product labelling compliance (allergens, legal naming, specifications)
• Conduct audits, hygiene inspections, and traceability exercises
• Manage supplier and customer compliance requirements

Essential Experience:

• Proven experience in the meat industry
• Strong expertise in labelling compliance and QMS management
• HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3
• Experience with audits, microbiological testing, and traceability systems
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to influence operational teams
