Founders Exec

Future Château is looking for an Founders Exec in London Area

Job description

Why you should want this job

Future Château makes wine that naturally has one third of the alcohol and calories of conventional wine, without sacrificing flavour.

We believe that luxury nowadays means the freedom to enjoy the things you love, without the consequences you expect. That’s why Future Château isn’t about moderation, it’s about modern luxury for everyday people.

Or more simply: we’re not about drinking less alcohol, but about drinking more wine.

We launched in Selfridges in October, and just 3 months later we’ve reached over 100m people completely organically (without spending a penny) through press and social, and attracted investment from some of the biggest names in booze.

We plan to build this into an iconic global brand, the benchmark of quality at everything from house wines all the way up to grand cru.

In the 3 months since launch I’ve quickly learned that as founder the most valuable thing I can do with my own time is to be external facing - to do sales myself, to speak to customers myself, to go to events and restaurants and bars and be out there in the world, increasing the company’s surface area for luck to stick to. And I’m going to keep doing that, but there’s only one of me, and I can’t be everywhere. So I want to recruit someone who can represent me and double the ground we cover.

This is a unique opportunity to learn what it takes to build a business and develop your skills at the coal face of brand building.

10 years ago I was in a similar position myself at a startup and I learned an insane amount and had an insane amount of fun. I want the same for you, and I want you to help me make Future Château a truly iconic brand.

The Role

Take charge of work that would normally sit with me, but is beyond my capacity. In particular, sales and in-person marketing.

  1. Winning independent stockists — wine shops, bars, restaurants, and venues that love great wine and great stories.
  2. Making sure we’re loved by those stockists — being present, knowing the staff’s names, making sure they know yours.
  3. Being the best ambassador for the brand — at events, samplings, bars and restaurants.

This is a hands-on role for someone who’s commercially minded, creative, high energy and likeable.

About You

  • A passion for food or drink. Wine knowledge would be great but not essential — I can teach that.
  • Ideally some sales experience.
  • A love of meeting new people.
  • Commercially savvy — able to sell, negotiate, and build relationships.
  • Self-motivated and happy wearing multiple hats in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Happy to take on an entry-mid level role, with LOTS of scope to grow.

What You’ll Get

  • The chance to build one of the most exciting new brands in booze.
  • Direct mentorship from the founder.
  • Exposure to the worlds of brand building and startup growth.
  • Competitive salary and share options — the people who build this company will own a bit of it.
  • Generous wine allowance and brand events.
