Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Westhill, where the Sonographer will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, focusing on patient care and high-quality imaging and reports. Responsibilities include:

• Maintain ultrasound equipment
• Undertaking routine quality assurance checks and arranging planned or emergency maintenance schedules for the ultrasound machine(s)
• Explain the ultrasound procedure to patients and respond to queries as required
• Undertake independent ultrasound examinations and reporting
• Deal sensitively with patients, before, during and after their scan.
• Maintain patient records, update administrative records, and add relevant medical notes relating to the ultrasound procedure, including PACS and RIS systems
• Liaise with the wider team and and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in medical imaging techniques, including radiology and vascular imaging
• HCPC Registration
• Strong foundation in medicine and patient care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and handle a fast-paced clinical environment
• Experience in diagnostic sonography and familiarity with advanced imaging technologies
• Commitment to adhering to healthcare safety and quality standards
