About the role

Our client is a specialty pharmaceutical company supplying the UK NHS and Independent Hospitals with Better Critical Care Medicines. They are looking to recruit a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support the Commercial Team by generating, qualifying, and developing sales opportunities across NHS hospitals.

This is a hybrid role, combining office-based work in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, with remote engagement and occasional customer visits.

This position would suit someone with experience in pharmaceutical sales, inside sales, or business development who understands NHS hospital structures and pharmaceutical compliance.

Key responsibilities

As an SDR, you will focus on pipeline development and customer engagement, working closely with the field sales and commercial teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively identifying and qualifying sales opportunities within NHS and Independent hospitals
  • Engaging key stakeholders via phone, email, Teams/Zoom, and other digital channels
  • Booking qualified meetings and handovers for field-based sales colleagues where appropriate
  • Supporting product switching initiatives by understanding current usage and uncovering needs
  • Managing and nurturing relationships with:
  • Procurement / Purchasing Pharmacists and Technicians
  • Surgical and Theatre Pharmacists
  • Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs)
  • Endoscopy Unit Nurses and Nurse Managers
  • Accurately recording all customer interactions and activity within the company CRM/database
  • Achieving agreed activity and opportunity-generation targets
  • Supporting marketing and commercial campaigns aligned to approved promotional materials
  • Representing the company professionally and in line with its ethos of supplying Better Essential Medicines
  • Ensuring full compliance with:
  • ABPI Code of Practice
  • Medicinal Product promotion regulations
  • Company health and safety procedures

About you

  • Experience in pharmaceutical sales, inside sales, SDR, or healthcare commercial roles
  • Understanding of NHS hospital environments and decision-making processes
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing rules and regulations
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging stakeholders by phone and video
  • Organised, target-driven, and highly accurate with CRM data
  • Able to work effectively in a hybrid model with office attendance in Bourne End
