Applied AI Engineer - GenAI Consulting

Harnham is looking for a Applied AI Engineer - GenAI Consulting

Job description

Are you an AI engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals?

Have you deployed AI models into production—not just trained them?

Want to work on agentic systems, RAG pipelines, and LLM-powered tools?

We're working with a high-growth GenAI consultancy building real-world, production-grade AI applications. With a team of 50+, the company partners with global clients across finance, energy, media, and tech. From hedge funds to energy and health-tech, their projects are diverse and technically challenging. With strong client demand and deep partnerships (including OpenAI), the team is scaling fast across the UK, Singapore, and Australia.

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer, you’ll take ownership of designing and deploying AI-powered applications that solve real client problems. You’ll work across full-stack delivery, from architecture to production deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring other engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and deploy scalable AI tools using Python and LLM APIs
  • Design end-to-end agentic and RAG-based solutions for enterprise use
  • Own delivery from proof-of-concept through to production
  • Work with cloud-native architectures (e.g. AWS Lambda, Step Functions)
  • Lead and guide junior engineers within project teams

  • Salary: £100,000–£130,000 + benefits
  • Working model: Hybrid (3 days/week in London office)
  • Tech stack: Python, LLMs (OpenAI/Claude), Docker, CI/CD, microservices, AWS

If you're a strong backend or platform engineer passionate about GenAI and excited to ship high-impact tools, this is the opportunity to step into it.
