Job Title: Design Engineer – Overhead Line (Utilities)

Type: Contract

We are seeking a Design Engineer with proven overhead line design experience to support utility infrastructure projects. The role involves producing safe, compliant, and cost-effective designs for overhead line networks across LV, HV, and/or EHV systems, working closely with project, construction, and client teams.

Role:

• Produce safe, compliant, and cost-effective overhead line designs within the utilities sector
• Develop detailed design calculations, drawings, and design packs for LV, HV, and/or EHV networks
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, legislation, and client specifications
• Support projects through the full design lifecycle, from concept and detailed design to construction and handover
• Participate in design reviews and technical assurance processes
• Resolve technical design issues and provide engineering support to delivery teams
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and clients to deliver project requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and standards

Key Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in overhead line design within the utilities sector
• Knowledge of UK utility standards and legislation (e.g. DNO / ICP frameworks)
• Ability to produce and review technical drawings, calculations, and design packs
• Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
• Relevant engineering qualification desirable but not essential
