Graduate Trading Desk Operations Engineer

Quant Capital is looking for a Graduate Trading Desk Operations Engineer

Job description

Trading Desk Operations Engineer - Summer 2026 start

Our client is a top tier global proprietary trading firm that blends advanced technology, quantitative rigour and deep market expertise. It is a place where sharp thinkers thrive. You will work alongside highly capable, intellectually driven people who enjoy hard problems, value precision and are keen to share what they know. This environment suits graduates who have excelled academically and want to apply their intelligence in a fast, practical and technical setting.

As a Trading Desk Operations Engineer you sit directly within the trading and research group. You support live trading, improve operational workflows and help turn ideas into reliable tools and systems. You will work closely with traders, researchers and engineers, gaining direct exposure to how strategies are built, tested and executed. Day to day you may validate trade flows, automate processes, troubleshoot issues under pressure, analyse unexpected system behaviour and build quick tools that improve speed and accuracy. You will need to think clearly, act decisively and enjoy solving complex technical problems in real time.

This position is well suited to graduates with a strong foundation in mathematics, engineering or computer science and a genuine appetite for analytical work.

You must have:

  • STEM degree from a top ranked university with exceptional academic results
  • A level Maths at grade A or equivalent
  • Excellent logical reasoning and problem solving ability
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Interest in programming with basic proficiency in at least one language (Python, C++, Go, Scala, Ruby, Lua, VBA or similar)
  • Curiosity about trading, technology and how complex systems behave under pressure

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants a front-row view of how modern trading actually works. You will learn quickly, work with outstanding people and develop a rare combination of technical, analytical and operational skills that will set you up for a high-impact career.
