Senior Business Development Manager (12-Month FTC)


Are you a seasoned Business Development professional with a passion for driving growth in high-profile legal practices? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading global law firm’s London office and play a pivotal role in shaping the BD strategy for its Finance, Restructuring, and Structured Finance teams—recognised as market leaders in complex, high-value transactions.


About the Role

As Senior BD Manager, you’ll work closely with partners and senior stakeholders to deliver strategic marketing and BD initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll lead on pitches, proposals, and client outreach, manage award and directory submissions, and spearhead thought leadership campaigns that enhance the firm’s market profile.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic BD plans for Finance, Restructuring & Structured Finance practices.
  • Manage pitches, proposals, and RFPs, ensuring high-quality, commercially insightful materials.
  • Coordinate cross-border BD initiatives and client engagement strategies.
  • Oversee directory submissions, awards, and league table reporting.
  • Drive thought leadership projects, social media strategies, and PR campaigns.
  • Collaborate on events and client engagement to strengthen relationships and ROI.


What We’re Looking For

  • Significant BD/Marketing experience at manager level or above in professional services (legal sector preferred).
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of finance and restructuring markets.
  • Exceptional project management skills with experience handling complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills; familiarity with LinkedIn and finance-specific databases.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and oral skills.
