General Manager – Semiconductor & Advanced Technology

Are you a commercially focused senior leader with experience in the semiconductor or high-tech equipment sector, looking for a role where you can take full ownership of a growing business? I am supporting a privately owned UK-based technology business operating within the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing equipment market, which is entering a key phase of leadership transition and growth. As part of this evolution, the business is seeking a General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive the next stage of expansion, particularly across European markets.

This role offers full P&L responsibility, broad strategic influence, and the opportunity to shape both the commercial direction and internal culture of a well-established, profitable organisation.

The Role

As General Manager, you will assume overall responsibility for the operational and commercial leadership of the business, working closely with the founder (transitioning into a non-executive role) and a small, experienced management team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the company’s overall business strategy and execution
• Owning P&L responsibility, with a strong focus on profitability and sustainable growth
• Developing and executing sales and market expansion strategies, particularly within Europe
• Providing leadership, coaching, and development to a small, multidisciplinary team
• Overseeing operations, service delivery, and customer satisfaction
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and partners
• Representing the business at industry exhibitions, events, and customer meetings
• Driving operational efficiency while maintaining service quality and technical excellence
• Managing organisational change in a pragmatic, low-disruption manner
• Shaping and reinforcing a collaborative, trusted company culture

Candidate Profile

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• Senior leadership experience within semiconductor or related technologies.
• Proven success in general management, business unit leadership, or operational leadership roles
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L ownership
• Experience developing and executing sales and growth strategies across European markets
• Confidence operating in customer-facing and stakeholder-heavy roles
• A pragmatic, hands-on leadership style suited to owner-managed or entrepreneurial businesses
• The ability to lead change while respecting established teams and culture
• Excellent communication skills and professional credibility at senior level
