My client is a fast-growing, design-led automotive brand backed by a major global manufacturing group. With an established presence across multiple global markets, my client is continuing to expand its UK retailer network and is now seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support this growth. You will play a key role in driving retailer performance, commercial compliance, and brand consistency across the network. This position focuses on optimising finance floorplan utilisation, leading structured performance reviews, ensuring adherence to brand standards, and strengthening the effectiveness of the Used Car Programme.

The role is highly collaborative and will work closely with retailers, finance partners, and internal stakeholders to improve profitability, operational standards, and overall network performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for retailer finance floorplan performance and utilisation
  • Define best practices and set clear commercial expectations across the retail network
  • Work closely with finance partners and retailers to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Ensure retailers consistently meet brand standards across facilities, operations, and customer experience
  • Conduct regular site visits and audits, providing structured feedback and improvement plans
  • Support retailers with refurbishments, upgrades, and brand compliance initiatives
  • Lead structured composite performance reviews covering sales, finance, aftersales, used cars, and customer metrics
  • Monitor progress against agreed actions and KPIs, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement
  • Use performance insights to identify high-performing retailers and those requiring additional support
  • Drive engagement and compliance with the brand’s Used Car Programme
  • Share best practice across the network to maximise used-car profitability and brand confidence
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required by senior management


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Commercial Management, Business Analytics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within the automotive OEM sector
  • Strong commercial mindset with a proactive, delivery-focused approach
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Experience working with agency partners or external suppliers
  • Confident, conscientious, flexible, and resilient with strong stakeholder management skills
  • English as the working language
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the region
