Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of mechanical building services, working collaboratively as part of the wider MEP team. Core responsibilities include:

• Designing HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation
• Developing domestic water services, drainage, and other mechanical utilities
• Producing technical drawings, calculations, schedules, reports, and specifications
• Coordinating designs within a 3D environment (Revit) and integrating with other disciplines
• Attending project and client meetings, both in person and online
• Providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians

The role requires strong technical knowledge, practical understanding of installation methods, and experience with relevant software tools for mechanical design and calculations. Professional membership (CIBSE or equivalent) is expected, with candidates working towards or having achieved Chartered status.
