Commercial Manager

GradBay is looking for a Commercial Manager

Job description

A global programme and project delivery consultancy is recruiting graduates to join its two-year Graduate Scheme within Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying), supporting major highways and infrastructure programmes that connect communities and enable sustainable growth.

This is an opportunity to work on real projects from day one, contributing to infrastructure that supports net zero ambitions, future mobility, and long-term economic development.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a client-facing environment where no two days are the same. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll help deliver complex infrastructure programmes across the highways sector, bringing structure, commercial rigour, and problem-solving to projects that matter.

While you’ll start in a defined team, roles naturally evolve over time, giving exposure to different clients, projects, and sectors as priorities change.

What You’ll Do

As a Graduate in Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying), you will:

  • Support the commercial management of subcontract work packages
  • Assist with procurement of subcontractors and materials
  • Help administer client and subcontract changes
  • Contribute to risk and opportunity reporting
  • Support margin protection and cost control
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team

You’ll also work towards professional membership with a recognised body such as RICS, fully funded and supported.

What’s On Offer

  • Permanent role from day one
  • Structured two-year graduate development programme
  • Fully funded professional accreditation
  • Competitive holiday allowance plus additional company days
  • Pension with employer contributions
  • Private medical cover, life assurance and wellbeing support
  • Travel support for project-based work
  • Access to flexible benefits, discounts and savings schemes

Key Criteria

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in any subject
  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent)

Skills & Attributes

  • Interest in commercial management, quantity surveying or infrastructure delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in changing, project-based environments
  • Clear communicator who works well in teams
  • Curious, proactive and adaptable mindset
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites and offices

Why Apply

  • Early responsibility on high-impact infrastructure projects
  • Clear pathway into a long-term commercial or project management career
  • Exposure to complex, large-scale programmes
  • Strong professional development and mentoring
  • Opportunities to move across sectors, roles and locations over time
