Job Description

This company are seeking a proactive and technically strong IT professional to support and enhance their IT environment through a combination of operational support, continuous improvement, and delivery of business change initiatives.


You will act as a technical authority for core business applications, particularly ERP systems and Microsoft 365, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver secure, resilient, and business-focused solutions.


This role requires an articulate, self-starting individual with a genuine passion for technology and a strong commitment to supporting business applications. You will regularly present technical solutions, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders, translating complex technical detail into clear business outcomes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Take primary ownership of the organisation’s in-house business applications, ensuring they are fully utilised, optimised, and aligned to business needs.
  • Act as a technical authority for business applications, particularly ERP platforms, working closely with users to improve adoption, effectiveness, and overall value.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and present opportunities to stakeholders on how existing applications and platforms can be enhanced to deliver greater business benefit.
  • Provide advanced technical support for modern workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, ERP systems, and Veeam Data Platform.
  • Lead and contribute to key IT projects.
  • Proactively carry out IT maintenance activities to maintain secure, stable, and resilient platforms.
  • Ensure IT policies, procedures, configurations, and documentation are clearly communicated and adhered to.
  • Act as an escalation point for 1st and 2nd line engineers, resolving complex issues and ensuring service continuity.


Key Skills & Experience


Essential:

  • Hands-on experience supporting and administering ERP systems in a business-critical setting.
  • Experience implementing, supporting, and optimising Microsoft 365 and associated business applications.
  • Experience leading and contributing to IT projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server and Client OS, VMware, Veeam Data Platform, ERP systems, and Windows Defender for Endpoint.
  • Experience working with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Experience with Azure, Intune, Power BI, and wider Microsoft services.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
  • Experience with Hyper-V, VMware, and backup/recovery solutions.
  • Scripting and automation experience, particularly PowerShell.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL or Microsoft Azure certifications.
