Sales Operations Manager - Defence

The Opportunity:

Nigel Wright Group is delighted to have been appointed exclusively, by a defence sector manufacturer, to lead the search for a Sales Operations Manager to join its growing team. The organisation is fast growing and is expected to double in size over the next 2-3 years. Package: Up to £70K basic + bonus

Role Profile:

• Support identification and qualification of new business opportunities in UK and international markets.
• Assist in preparing bids, proposals, and presentations for customers and partners.
• Conduct market and competitor research to inform capture planning and sales strategy.
• Support coordination of customer meetings, events, and exhibitions.
• Track tender portals and relevant frameworks for new opportunities.
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of information for bids and client responses.
• Assist in developing marketing materials, case studies, and capability statements.
• Monitor contract progress and customer satisfaction post-award.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of business development tools and processes.
• Some customer facing time in market, majority of time on site at South Wales HQ, East side of Swansea.

Person Specification:

• Commutable to the South Wales HQ near Swansea.
• Exposure to bids, tenders and business development interaction, ideally in the defence and aerospace sector (other industrial sectors will be considered e.g. General engineering, construction, oil and gas etc).
• Some experience of defence sector primes / MOD. Similar sectors with bid and tender cycles, such as oil and gas may be considered.
