Nidec Drives is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic PMO team and lead high-priority initiatives that shape the future of our business.
Role Summary:
The Senior Project Manager will own high-priority, change management, IT and/or Operations projects. They will act as entrepreneurs to deliver project benefits in line with the business case.
As a senior project manager, you would be required to lead multi-disciplinary teams across boundaries to ensure a successful handover of projects to the operational teams.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager consist of, but are not limited to:
- Build a cross-functional team and engage with all stakeholders
- Develop business case proposals and justification, including a financial analysis comparing the current to the future state
- Present the proposal to Nidec and Control Techniques Senior Leaders and gain approval
- Prepare any required Budget Requests and manage them through the approval process
- Track and report progress for each initiative against agreed objectives, including project timeline and budget
- Develop and maintain scope, resource plans, project documentation and quality of deliverables
- Identify and onboard any necessary external partners and suppliers
- Supported by the cross-functional team, to lead each initiative throughout the project, utilising the standard Project Management processes
- To have accountability for all aspects of the project over the entire project life
- Interfacing with all areas affected by the project, including end users, distributors, and vendors
- Ensuring adherence to quality standards and reviewing project deliverables
- Deliver a smooth handover to the relevant operational teams
- Managing communications with all stakeholders, including status reports to the Senior Leadership Team
Travel Requirements:
- Frequent on-site attendance at the head office/ factory sites in Newtown
- Occasional travel to other sites may be required to support project needs
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant discipline (Electrical, IT, Mechanical Engineering preferred).
- Proven project management experience in a relevant field (IT, Manufacturing, Supply Chain)
Desirable:
- Relevant post-graduate qualification, e.g., Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- Recognised PM qualification (PMP®, PRINCE2® Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent).
- Track record in large and strategic Change Management Projects, e.g. ERP and e-commerce implementations; factories set ups.
- Experience of working with a PMO
- Having led Strategic Programs for large organisations
- Experience in operating and influencing at a strategic level
- Working within a multi-cultural and global environment
