Sales Development Manager – Legal Services

Montresor Legal is looking for a Sales Development Manager – Legal Services

Job description

We are working with a fast-growing legal services business that partners with major law firms and in-house teams to deliver smarter ways of working. They combine people, process and technology to help clients transform how legal work gets done, and they’re now looking for a Business Development Manager to join their commercial team at an exciting stage of growth.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities, and building long-term relationships within professional services. It blends proactive outreach with early-stage deal shaping and ongoing account development, giving you a clear line of sight from first contact all the way through to securing new business.

You’ll be identifying prospective clients across the legal and professional services market, researching targets, and engaging senior decision-makers such as General Counsels and Heads of Legal. You’ll spend time understanding their challenges and positioning the company’s services in a compelling, consultative way. You’ll qualify opportunities, design tailored outreach approaches, and create the kind of intelligent conversations that lead to a strong pipeline.

There is also an account development side to the role. You’ll work with executive sponsors, subject-matter experts, and the delivery team to shape opportunities, progress deals, manage touchpoints, and help nurture accounts as they grow. The sales cycle here is longer, relationship-led, and focused on building trust rather than quick wins, so resilience, curiosity and persistence are important.

They’re looking for someone with experience in services-based sales, ideally from legal, consulting, outsourcing or another professional services background, who enjoys hunting for new business and balancing that with thoughtful account management. Strong communication skills, confidence with senior stakeholders, and the ability to guide opportunities through the early sales cycle will be key.

If you thrive in a consultative environment where the focus is on solving problems rather than pushing products, and you enjoy thinking creatively about how to engage and build relationships, this will give you the chance to grow within a team that values collaboration, ownership and long-term success.
