Senior / Staff AI Engineer (Python, ML Systems) - FULLY REMOTE

We're working with a well-funded, fast-scaling AI company building a highly ambitious product at enterprise scale. They're now looking to add Senior and Staff-level AI Engineers to help shape the next phase of their ML platform and establish strong technical leadership within the team.

This is a product engineering role (not consultancy, not internal tools) with a heavy focus on ML systems, model deployment, and production AI infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and building production ML systems and pipelines in Python
• Architecting scalable inference infrastructure and model serving systems
• Building robust MLOps tooling for training, evaluation, and deployment
• Owning AI system reliability, performance optimization, and monitoring at scale
• Acting as a technical leader within the AI engineering team, with a clear path to Staff / Tech Lead impact
• Helping lay the foundations for significant product and engineering growth over the next 12–18 months

What they're looking for

• Senior or Staff-level AI/ML engineer (roughly 10–12+ years' experience)
• Expert Python skills with deep ML frameworks experience (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar)
• Proven experience running production ML systems at scale
• Strong background in model deployment, MLOps, and ML system architecture
• Experience with LLMs, transformers, or modern AI architectures
• Comfortable making long-term technical decisions around ML infrastructure
• Experience in regulated or enterprise AI environments is a plus
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (not pure research)

Strong positive signals:

• Solid tenures at companies running ML/AI at real scale
• Clear career progression into senior AI technical responsibility
• Background in production ML platforms or high-traffic AI products

Package

• Senior: ~£100k–£125k
• Staff: up to ~£130k (target level)
• Meaningful equity at an early stage
