AI Engineer

eTeam is looking for a AI Engineer

Job description

Hiring: Agentic AI Engineer

Location: UK / Europe Time Zone

Duration: 12 Months

Work Mode: Remote

Interview Process: 2 rounds

We are hiring an Agentic AI Engineer to design, build, deploy, and scale AI agents and agentic workflows that meaningfully improve how engineering teams work every day. This is a long-term contract role (12 months) with remote working across the UK / Europe time zone.

This role sits within a transformation-focused engineering team that helps multiple coding and engineering teams adopt modern agentic AI platforms, tools, and workflows, enabling them to focus on solving complex problems rather than repetitive or manual work.

Role Overview

As an Agentic AI Engineer, you will work closely with engineering teams to deeply understand their workflows, challenges, and bottlenecks. You will document how teams currently work, identify opportunities for automation or augmentation using AI agents, and then design and build scalable AI agent applications and tools that can be reused across teams.

Your work will include building agents for:

• Development & coding workflows

• DevOps and CI/CD automation

• Security and compliance use cases

• Knowledge management and retrieval

• Engineering productivity and developer experience

You will help shape a new way of working with AI agents at scale, driving adoption across teams through workshops, training sessions, and hands-on enablement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AI agents and agentic workflows that improve developer productivity

• Partner with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand day-to-day engineering pain points

• Translate real-world engineering problems into practical AI-driven solutions

• Build reusable components such as:

  • Agent commands and skills
  • CI and DevOps agents
  • Low-code / no-code agents for faster adoption
  • • Design and orchestrate custom agent workflows using short-term and long-term memory
  • • Build and maintain knowledge bases connected via connectors and MCP servers
  • • Promote and implement spec-driven development and structured engineering practices
  • • Help teams move away from unstructured “vibe coding” toward scalable, testable, and observable systems
  • • Run workshops, training sessions, demos, and enablement sessions to scale adoption across teams
  • • Work in an agile delivery environment, collaborating with multiple teams simultaneously

Working Model & Team

• Fully remote role, aligned to Europe time zone

• Part of a transformation-focused engineering group supporting multiple teams

• Day-to-day work involves collaborating with different coding and engineering teams

• You will first understand and document how teams work, create reports, and then scale solutions by building AI agent tools for them

• Strong emphasis on collaboration and adaptability across teams

Required Skills & Experience

Agentic AI & Platforms

• Deep hands-on experience with agentic AI platforms

• Experience building and deploying agents using tools such as AgentCore, Gemini Enterprise, Azure Copilot

• Strong understanding of agent SDKs and frameworks such as LangChain, ADK, Strands

Development Workflow Discipline

• Strong experience with modern development workflows:

  • Branching strategies
  • Code reviews
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Testing and observability
  • • Clear understanding of why unstructured coding (“vibe coding”) does not scale
  • • Experience with spec-driven development or similar structured approaches

Agentic Patterns & Protocols

• Familiarity with:

  • Agent-to-agent communication (A2A)
  • MCP (Model Context Protocol)
  • RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
  • Memory and context management (short & long-term)
  • • Ability to design effective interaction patterns between agents, tools, and users

LLM Tooling & Hands-on Build Experience

• Experience creating and maintaining:

  • Cursor commands
  • Claude skills
  • Steering documents
  • CI agents or equivalent tooling
  • • Comfortable experimenting with, standardising, and scaling new agent workflows

Cloud & Engineering

• Experience working with AWS, CDK, CI agents, and modern DevOps tooling

• Ability to integrate agents with existing systems via APIs, webhooks, and event-driven architectures

Nice to Have

• Experience with enterprise AI governance, safety, and compliance

• Background in Developer Experience (DevEx), platform engineering, or internal tools

• Familiarity with observability and monitoring for agents (logs, traces, evaluation frameworks, feedback loops)

What We’re Looking For

• Someone who enjoys working with multiple teams and diverse stakeholders

• Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex ideas into actionable solutions

• High alignment with agentic AI, engineering productivity, and scalable systems

• The closer your experience aligns with the JD, the faster the hiring decision
