About the Role


The Risk & Compliance Manager is a newly established role, taking responsibility for creating and implementing our firm approach to client onboarding together with managing risk, GDPR, regulatory and compliance obligations.


The primary focus for this role be based in our London team and operations but there will be the need to ensure international compliance for our US and Netherlands operations.


Key aspects of the role include , but are not limited to:


  • Managing the firm’s regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and managing relationships with our external regulatory bodies
  • Reviewing and updating processes for client onboarding including AML, conflicts and due diligence
  • Handling our professional indemnity insurance – maintaining detailed records, ensuring compliance as well as acting as the main point of contact
  • Maintaining our risk register – ensuring mitigations are in place and being delivered on as well as assessing any new risks
  • Establishing and managing standardised templates, systems, terms of business and processes
  • Designing and delivering risk and compliance training for all employees


About You


As an experienced Risk & Compliance specialist, you will thrive in an role that requires both a grass roots strategic approach and operational delivery. In this standalone role, you will have confidence in analysing what best practice processes are required and deliver these across the business.


You will be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders across different business areas, and take a consultative approach to relationship building.


We expect this to be a busy and autonomous role which offers plenty of scope and the opportunity to establish yourself in the firm as an expert.


You will have gained your experience in a professional services or law firm environment and have a strong working understanding and knowledge of risk, compliance, client onboarding and AML regulations and requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, happy to work directly with partners as well as presenting to a wide audience as required. Including the ability to work effectively with robust and varied personalities.
  • The ability to work with teams across various locations and time zones. Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations requiring adherence to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to quickly develop a strong working knowledge of the firm, its services, and its clients and their industry sectors.
  • Are highly analytical, organized and detail oriented. Independently driven, resourceful, proactive and self-motivated with a "make it happen" mindset and excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
