Principal Sustainability Engineer | Hampshire | Permanent | up to £70,000

If you’re the an engineer who sees sustainability benefiting internal systems - not just a scoreboard of emissions - this one’s worth a look.

PT Renewables is partnered with a global manufacturer in the medical devices world - think highly regulated, engineering-led, quality-first.

Operating in 100+ countries, sustainability isn’t a side topic here, it’s a valuable part of operations, backed by investment, deadlines, and leadership attention.

This role sits at the intersection of science, sustainability and technical innovation, helping drive decarbonisation, circular thinking, eco-design, and operational impact reduction across a global footprint.

The Role

You’ll be the go-to technical expert on sustainability engineering and design.

You'll lead on research, feasibility and delivery of changes that cut carbon, reduce waste, rethink materials and improve environmental performance - all while still hitting cost, quality and compliance requirements.

In practice, that means:

  • Leading the global decarbonisation programme
  • Acting as the SME on waste, plastics, water, and eco-design
  • Driving and validating Life Cycle Assessments and GHG reporting
  • Translating global standards, regulations and tech trends into actionable programmes
  • Running technical research, design changes, ECO processes and risk management
  • Developing policies, training, and internal capability around sustainable product & process engineering
  • Influencing decision-makers across engineering, ops, quality, procurement and supply chain

About You

This suits someone from both a consultancy or in-house background, but someone who enjoys complexity.

Someone who can zoom from GHG methodologies, manufacturing processes, regulatory compliance, business cases, without dropping the thread.

We’re looking for:

  • Solid experience implementing LCAs, decarb plans or major sustainability initiatives in a manufacturing or regulated environment
  • Strong analytical and computational capability
  • A credible engineering or scientific background with sustainability

Package

  • Base salary up to £70,000
  • Generous bonus opportunities
  • 25 days holiday + enhanced pension
  • Wellness support & benefits
  • Training & career development
  • A genuinely inclusive culture that values doing things properly (not greenwashing)

If this sounds like you, and you want to join a global business who improve people's lives daily, apply now, we'd love to hear from you.
