Quality Engineer – Manufacturing

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: £45,000 per annum

We are working with a well-established manufacturing organisation based in Portsmouth who are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team.

This role would suit a hands-on Quality Engineer who enjoys working closely with production and engineering teams to drive quality standards and continuous improvement across the business.

The Role

As Quality Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining and improving quality systems within a manufacturing environment
• Investigating non-conformances and leading root cause analysis using recognised tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, etc.)
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Working cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting supplier quality activities where required

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience in a Quality Engineer role within manufacturing
• Strong working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies
• Experience with ISO quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across departments
• A proactive, detail-focused approach and willingness to be present on the shop floor
