Inside Sales Consultant – Product Specialist 

Location: Johnson Controls, Manchester 

 

What you will do 

As an Inside Sales Consultant – Product Specialist, you will sit in the Inside Sales Team and play a key role in driving business growth by managing customer relationships, supporting sales activities, and promoting Johnson Controls’ TFIS product portfolio. You will: 

  • Handle inbound and outbound customer interactions via phone and email, ensuring timely responses and exceptional service. 

  • Manage international shipping and customs documentation for product deliveries. 

  • Prepare and follow up on quotes, identify cross-selling opportunities, and enable revenue growth. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships  

  • Liaise with external customers and internal stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership and provide updates as required. 

  • Continuously develop your technical product knowledge to provide expert guidance and solutions. 

 

How you will do it 

You will succeed by combining strong organizational and communication skills with a customer-first mindset: 

  • Use CRM systems and MS Office tools to manage sales pipelines, track opportunities, and maintain accurate records. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth order processing and compliance with international shipping requirements. 

  • Proactively chase quotes and identify opportunities to upsell or cross-sell products. 

  • Deliver clear, professional communication across all levels of the business, ensuring alignment and customer satisfaction. 

  • Stay informed on product updates and industry trends to position Johnson Controls as a trusted partner. 

 

What we look for 

  • Experience: Proven background in inside sales or customer service, ideally with exposure to international shipping and customs documentation. 

  • Skills:  

  • Highly organized with strong administrative capabilities. 

  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior leaders and external customers. 

  • Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving and business growth. 

  • Technical: Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems. 

  • Mindset: Eager to learn, adaptable, and committed to developing product expertise.
