Accounts Manager – Axminster

Are you an experienced accounts professional ready to move beyond “just managing” and start shaping your future? We’re now looking for an ambitious Accounts Manager to join the Axminster team. You’ll work with a diverse and engaging client portfolio, lead and mentor junior team members, and play a pivotal role in delivering trusted, high-quality advice to growing businesses.

This is a varied, senior-level position where you’ll combine technical expertise, client leadership, and people management.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the primary contact for your own portfolio of clients
• Reviewing and preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
• Preparing and reviewing corporate and personal tax computations and returns
• Overseeing VAT return preparation and submissions
• Ensuring compliance with HMRC, Companies House, and regulatory requirements
• Supporting senior leadership with technical and specialist assignment

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be confident, commercially aware, and enjoy building long-term client relationships. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Experience operating at Manager level within an accountancy practice
• Strong technical ability across accounts and tax for limited and unincorporated businesses
• ACA or ACCA qualification
• A positive, proactive leadership style with a collaborative mindset
