Job description

About the Opportunity

A fast‑growing, forward‑thinking law firm is seeking an exceptional Senior Business Development Executive to join its dynamic BD & Marketing team. This is a high‑impact role within the organisation’s largest and best‑established practice area, offering significant scope for progression and the chance to contribute to a team known for its entrepreneurial mindset, agility and ambition.

If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy taking ownership and want to be part of a team that is reshaping how BD and marketing operate within the sector, this is an exciting opportunity to make your mark.

The Team

The BD & Marketing function is on a mission to elevate how the firm goes to market — delivering standout campaigns, strengthening operational excellence and ensuring the firm’s expertise is showcased with clarity, creativity and impact. You’ll be joining a collaborative, high‑performing team that values curiosity, innovation and continuous improvement.

The Role

Working closely with the BD Manager and partnering with senior stakeholders across the Corporate division, you will play a central role in driving business development activity across a broad range of practice areas, including M&A, ECM, Venture Capital, Projects & Infrastructure, Commercial, IP, Sports, Insolvency & Restructuring, Employment and Technology.

Your work will span content creation, pitching, events, campaign support, research and project management — all with the aim of strengthening client engagement, enhancing market presence and supporting strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and delivery of business line plans aligned to firmwide strategy.
  • Managing and producing pitch materials, from opportunity assessment through to ROI reporting.
  • Maintaining and enhancing BD collateral, including credentials, presentations and capability documents.
  • Creating and managing internal project trackers, content pipelines and targeting tools.
  • Using the firm’s CRM system to support BD initiatives, campaigns and events.
  • Leading and supporting internal and external events, including invite creation, logistics and on‑the‑day representation.
  • Coordinating and analysing regular client and internal communications.
  • Drafting announcements, case studies and marketing content for internal and external audiences.
  • Supporting the execution of BD and marketing campaigns, including analytics and lead tracking.
  • Conducting research to support pitches, campaigns and client targeting.
  • Contributing to directory and award submissions.
  • Leading or supporting BD meetings and driving follow‑up actions.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the Corporate practice and identifying market trends and BD opportunities.
  • Managing department‑wide projects and analysing outcomes.
  • Building relationships with external suppliers and intermediaries.
  • Providing administrative support related to BD and marketing activity.

Firmwide Contribution

  • Supporting reporting to senior leadership on BD KPIs, including pitching, conversion, client growth and cross‑selling.
  • Contributing to strategic firmwide initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across BD & Marketing on priority programmes, including client development, CRM initiatives, major campaigns and firmwide events.

About You

You will be an experienced BD professional (4–5+ years) with a background in professional services — ideally within a partnership environment. Experience in a Corporate practice area is highly desirable.

You will bring:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence senior colleagues.
  • A proactive, enthusiastic approach and a commitment to high professional standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for creative thinking.
  • A structured, organised working style and strong commercial awareness.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities with agility and calmness under pressure.
  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
  • Proven project management experience and a track record of delivering high‑quality outputs.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., InterAction) and email marketing tools (e.g., Vuture).
  • Strong skills in Word and PowerPoint, including template development.
  • Experience producing pitch materials and credentials documents.

What We’re Looking For

A confident communicator with a positive work ethic, strong relationship‑building skills and a polished, professional presence. Someone who is ready to take ownership, contribute ideas and play a key role in shaping the future of BD within a growing and ambitious firm.
