Junior Web Designer

Instant Underwriting is looking for a Junior Web Designer

Job description

The Job

We’re looking for a Junior Web Designer to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of creative design and technical execution, ensuring our digital presence is professional, user-friendly, and perfectly aligned with our operational goals.

You will be responsible for maintaining our web platforms, creating engaging digital assets, and ensuring that our user interfaces (UI) provide a seamless experience for our clients and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design Maintenance: Execute regular updates to our websites and portals, ensuring all visual content is current, accurate, and high-performing.
  • UI/UX Support: Assist in creating wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new features or landing pages.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Support the team in identifying and fixing front-end issues, styling bugs, or layout inconsistencies.
  • Documentation: Maintain design libraries, style guides, and standard operating procedures for web updates.
  • Collaboration: Act as a creative bridge between our developers and non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into visual solutions.
  • Content Management: Update CMS registers and web-based tools with new information, ensuring visual consistency across all systems.

About You

  • Eye for Detail: You have a strong aesthetic sense and a "pixel-perfect" approach to layouts and typography.
  • Problem Solver: You enjoy deconstructing a design challenge and finding a functional, user-centric solution.
  • Process-Oriented: You can manage recurring design tasks and updates effectively without losing focus on quality.
  • Eager Learner: You stay up-to-date with web design trends and are keen to grow your technical skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Core Skills: A foundational understanding of design tools and web technologies (HTML/CSS) is essential. Experience with WordPress (or similar CMS platforms) is a big plus and will help you hit the ground running.
