Position: Senior Pension Communications Consultant

Our client are seeking a Senior Communications Consultant to join an award-winning Engagement and Experience team. In this role, you’ll shape strategic communications that make a real difference for clients, focusing on workplace, employee, and financial communications.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Pensions Communications Consultant you will:

  • Lead senior client relationships, providing expert communications advice and insight.
  • Deliver high-quality communications materials and multi-channel campaigns that align with client objectives, regulations, and internal standards.
  • Manage complex projects from concept to delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and profitability.
  • Mentor and support consultants and contractors, fostering professional growth.
  • Collaborate with creative, digital, and data teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support Heads of and Lead Consultants with project delivery and client engagement.
  • Oversee day-to-day project operations, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and account growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement multi-channel campaigns that engage members and employers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including government departments and scheme managers.
  • Write, edit, and proofread content with accuracy and clarity.
  • Monitor project profitability and support revenue growth through careful budget management.
  • Ensure robust governance, quality assurance, and compliance across all communications activities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, internal teams, and suppliers, delivering projects on time and on budget.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years in a senior communications role, ideally within pensions, financial services, or the public sector.
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership in communications planning and delivery.
  • Knowledge of defined benefit pension schemes and regulatory environments.
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Understanding of pensions legislation and key scheme types.
