About Us


The Angola LNG Project is the result of a partnership between Sonangol, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (Chevron’s affiliate in Angola), TotalEnergies, Azule Energy Angola Production B.V., and Azule Energy Exploration (Angola) Ltd. The project gathers and processes natural gas and delivers up to 5.2 million tonnes of LNG per year to the global market. Different companies manage the Angola LNG project value chain through service agreements with Angola LNG Limited.


This role operates within the Shipping Team at Angola LNG Marketing Ltd (“ALM”), based in London. ALM is responsible for conducting LNG marketing activities and LNG and Liquids sales operations on behalf of Angola LNG, and through Angola LNG Supply Services (ALSS), for managing the dedicated fleet of vessels that ship LNG for delivery. ALM is also responsible for managing the Angola LNG brand and for all external communications.


Overview of the Role


ALM is seeking a Marine Technical Coordinator to join the Shipping Team on a contract basis. The role focuses on day-to-day ship operator activities, voyage performance, and marine operational and technical support for the chartered LNG fleet.


Key Responsibilities


  • Management of each voyage to optimise performance and ensure loading and discharge obligations are fully met.
  • Conducting a preliminary risk assessment for each voyage.
  • Monitoring pro-forma port costs received from port agents and verifying final disbursement accounts prior to settlement.
  • Preparing voyage economic analyses to support vessel scheduling/deployment decisions.
  • Determining vessel fuel requirements, recommending bunkering strategies to the Marine Operations Manager and executing approved bunker purchases.
  • Providing daily reports to the Shipping Team summarising vessel positions, cargo status and ETA at next destination.
  • Assistance in securing vessel clearance status at each terminal.
  • Operational information exchange with vessel owners, operators, marine terminals and service providers.
  • Assessing vessel performance against contractual warranties and preparing claims as required.
  • Assisting in the periodic review and updating of ALM procedures relating to operational and technical integrity.
  • Providing support for incident response and crisis management situations.
  • Providing support in the management of claims and disputes as necessary.


Personal Attributes & Skills


  • Approximately 2-4 years’ experience across nautical and technical aspects of vessel, port, and terminal operations, including LNG vessel operations.
  • Commercial experience including voyage economics, chartering terms and practices, logistics, and trading.
  • Joint venture experience is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of cargo operations, shipping documentation, and maritime terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, international environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant operational systems.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused.
  • Comfortable working from the London office three days per week.
  • Right to Work in the UK is required.
