About the Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated BIM Technician / Revit Engineer to join our team in Port Talbot. In this role, you will be at the heart of our digital engineering practice. At Auxilium, BIM isn’t just about drafting models – it’s central to how we drive innovation, collaboration, and smarter decision-making in our projects. We incorporate BIM from the earliest project stages to enable effective teamwork and creative, sustainable design solutions.

Using Autodesk Revit (MEP) for 3D to 5D modelling, our BIM process allows us to tackle key design, coordination, fabrication, and installation challenges upfront. This approach ensures that our buildings perform beautifully and efficiently throughout their lifecycle.

Joining us as a BIM Technician, you’ll be part of a supportive, dynamic environment where precision and creativity come together. You will work closely with our experienced MEP engineers and fellow BIM specialists on a diverse range of projects spanning sectors such as healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and more. This role offers the chance to contribute at all project stages – from concept and detailed design through to construction coordination and handover. Your ideas and expertise will be valued, and you’ll have a real impact on delivering successful projects.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Develop and manage federated BIM models in Autodesk Revit MEP, producing accurate, data-rich 3D models (and corresponding 2D drawings) and keeping them updated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate design information across disciplines by working closely with mechanical, electrical and public health teams. Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues promptly through collaboration.
  • Set up and maintain project BIM models, establishing the initial Revit project structure (templates, worksharing, families) and ensuring model integrity, clarity, and compliance with company and industry BIM standards (e.g. ISO 19650) throughout the project.
  • Integrate and manage external consultant models (architectural, structural, etc.) into the overall BIM environment. Clearly document any changes, clashes, or issues and communicate them to the team.
  • Improve workflows through technology by leveraging BIM automation and analysis tools (for example, Dynamo scripts or Revit plug-ins) to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency. Stay proactive in exploring new digital tools or methods that could benefit our processes.
  • Produce high-quality documentation and deliverables. Extract drawings, schedules, and visualisations from the BIM model for clients, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring consistency and attention to detail in all outputs.
  • Support effective information management by assisting with project data on our Common Data Environment platform (e.g. Autodesk BIM 360/ACC). Follow proper file naming, version control, and data exchange protocols to keep information organised and accessible.

Your work will play a pivotal role in each project’s success – not just producing drawings, but enabling smarter, more sustainable building design and construction. By joining our team, you’ll help drive innovative BIM practices that result in buildings which are safer, greener, and delivered more efficiently.

About You

You are a detail-oriented, collaborative technician who is passionate about BIM and digital design. You enjoy solving complex coordination problems and take pride in producing clear, well-structured models. You’re always eager to learn new tools and techniques, and you share your knowledge freely with others. In our fast-paced environment, you are proactive and adaptable, able to work independently when needed while remaining a team player.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven expertise with Autodesk Revit (ideally Revit MEP) on real-world building projects, with the ability to build and organise models for building services (MEP) systems and navigate complex BIM projects confidently.
  • Familiarity with modern BIM workflows and standards (such as ISO 19650 / BIM Level 2), along with experience in performing clash detection and working within common data environments.
  • Strong coordination skills and technical understanding – able to interpret MEP schematics and architectural drawings, integrate them into the BIM model, and manage your modelling tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • A problem-solving mindset and initiative – you can troubleshoot issues within Revit models and are eager to suggest improvements or automate repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency.
  • Effective communication and teamwork – you have strong communication skills and can collaborate in a multidisciplinary team, supporting and guiding colleagues in best practices when necessary.
  • Excellent attention to detail – you apply a methodical approach to quality control, ensuring that all model data and documentation are accurate and meet high standards.

Desirable skills (a plus):

  • Experience with 2D CAD software (AutoCAD) for producing or integrating legacy drawings.
  • Familiarity with model-checking or coordination software (e.g. Solibri, Navisworks, Revizto) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for managing data exports or schedules.
  • An interest or experience in visual programming and automation (such as creating Dynamo scripts for Revit) to further extend BIM capabilities.
